PROBLEM SOLVED!

Well in my earlier blog I had mentioned that certain images and icons are not being displayed!  The exact format of the files that were not displayed were .png files.  Apparently in IE 7 and in Vista, you have to run IE as an administrator! To achieve this

Right click on your IE icon in the Quick Launch bar >

Click Properties >

Click the Shortcut Tab >

Click on Advanced >

Check the Run as Administrator  box

Restart your Internet Explorer! And it works!!!

Not able to view small icons or images...

I have come across this problem of late... Am not sure if it already existed or not!  Am not able to view certain small images and icons in my browser( Internet Explorer 7).  I have a Windows Vista OS.  Whereas in Windows XP they are perfectly viewable!  Usually the 24x24 pixel and 16x16 pixel icons or images are not viewable at all. It has caused a lot of problem for me.  For example I could not sign up for a website because I was unable to view the security code to complete the registration process.  Another instance  where I came across this problem was in a free glitter creator site.  I was unable to view the color pallet to select the hue or color of my text.  I get a red X on the image.Sad
Can some one help me out?  Is it the problem of the browser or the websites should test their sites on Windows Vista and release it? or there is something worng with my browser or OS?

Any help is highly appreciated!Smile

A little Visual Treat!

I just pitched in to say that I successfully did the 'Disk Recovery' stuff… and also got to know about partition management or drive shrinking… or whatever you may wanna call it…  I was a little apprehensive to do it as my friend was used to doing that on Windows XP and he reckoned that you do it before the OS is installed!  Mine was a new notebook and I hadn't yet taken a back up… why risk?  Hence just stuck with C drive which had about 95 GB free space and D drive with only 190 MB!!!  I took my lappy to the HP dealer guy I bought it from and he said you can go ahead with creating it! I let him do it and watched it… So now I have 2 new drives with 40 GB each! It was  pretty easy…. In case anyone of  you who have bought a PC or a laptop and you have prior experience  but you are apprehensive … don't worry just go ahead and do it…

Vista has a built- in ability of shrink, create and format a drive! You do not need a third party tool or Partition Magic  to do this like the way it was done in earlier Windows OS!  Its very user friendly and easy-to-understand with a  step by step dialogue box! A note of caution thought… try not to delete your existing partition in your excitement as its just a few clicks away!!!

Check out this site … it  has screenshots to give you a visual description. Click Here Simple isn't it?!

Ok below is just a small screenshot to show you how the games icons look… lol… I was so excited by the new look and feel of the games! Its just lovely!

Ok i just uploaded them... hope you're able to view them!

    Cool isn't it?

House Arrest!

This probably is one of the worst weeks of my life :(

I was all set to attend my best friend's wedding in Mangalore (May 4, 2007).  Had the tickets booked last week itself and cancelled that because it was not a luxury bus and re-booked it!

Woke up on Monday morning with a  CONJUNCTIVITIS. Had a really bad swollen right eye.  No Office - Sick Leave.  Stayed home putting some eye drops every 4 hours…

Tuesday - condition still bad, went to another doctor, waited for hours to get the diagnosis!  2 more eye drops were prescribed.  Later that day, I packed my bags as I was gonna leave on Wed night… went to the parlor!  got back home, did more packing, and went out to apply mehendi to my hands… waited there for about 1.5 hours! Finally got my turn and the design was lovely… fortunately no leave --- as it was May 1, 2007

Wednesday morning … woke up with the left eye infected… right eye even worse…the pain gave me a headache. Had to cancel my plan as it was infectious… No Office - Sick Leave

Thursday - Condition still bad- No Office - Sick Leave

Friday - Condition worse - No Office - Sick Leave

Saturday… its 00:00 as I type… I should have been traveling back home… I have another class mate's wedding reception in the evening, which I had planned to attend…

On House Arrest The Entire Week...

My 'WOW' Experience

Ok am back…. But gonna keep this really short as am so sleepy! And at the same time I've spent a great deal of time trying to organize my thoughts to blog… LöL
Am not online right now as I type… I tried to but wanted the comfort of my room, the privacy(!), and of course the inspiration…Oh damn… I still haven't got used to the laptop mouse…  I miss the regular optical mouse The curser sometimes moves elsewhere as I type and its pretty annoying when you look at the screen and wonder what and where the hell you have typed?!

I happened to be inspired my Microsoft to blog! Really! And I want to share my experience of using their products! You can call it my 'WOW' experience!

I was so happy to know that Vista is gonna be installed along with my laptop and I just couldn't wait to use it… I was in fact frequenting their site to see the demos of vista and I when I saw the interface I was so excited! Well I happen to have Vista -Home Basic! I know, I know , its no big deal… as many have Vista Ultimate with all the 3-D aero effects and stuff… nevertheless something is better than nothing… and am so glad that it’s a Genuine Microsoft Software LöL :)
